Long-term, fixed-rate time charters

  • Most of the vessels in our fleet are subject to long-term, fixed-rate time charters with leading container liner shipping companies.
  • Ensures more stable revenue as compared to chartering vessels under short-term charters or at prevailing rates in the volatile spot market.

Uniform and newly built fleet

  • Our fleet consists exclusively of vessels that have been or will be built by reputable shipbuilders using standard vessel designs customised by the Rickmers Group.
  • This offeres us significant operating efficiencies and economies of scale in operations, maintenance and crewing.
  • The fleet has an average age of 3.0 years as at 30 September 2010. We believe this will provide us with key competitive advantages such as requiring fewer off-hire days and less down time for repair and maintenance.

  • Long-standing relationships with leading container liner shipping companies such as Maersk Line, CMA CGM, CSAV, MSC, NOL, Evergreen, OOCL, NYK, MOL, Hanjin Shipping, Hamburg Sud and Hapag-Lloyd.
  • We expect these relationships to enhance our ability to identify and pursue future growth opportunities.

Full-service chartering solutions

  • Ability to provide full-service chartering solutions that will benefit customers in the form of lower operating and maintenance costs and improved service levels.

Platform for growth

  • Exclusive vehicle of the Rickmers Group for acquiring, owning and operating containerships of at least 3,450 TEU with right of first offer on all Rickmers Group vessels of at least 3,450 TEU with charters of more than one year subject to certain exceptions. Intention is to actively pursue purchases of other containerships with the goal of expanding our containership fleet and increasing distributions to our Unitholders.
  • The number of new vessels that the Rickmers Group has under construction will be required to be offered to Rickmers Maritime under the right of first offer if and when the Rickmers Group is successful in putting charters of appropriate length in place.

  • Trustee-Manager has a team of six directors and two executive officers, all of whom are respected professionals in the shipping, finance and legal sectors.
